TK Read, who writes her award winning middle grade books under the byline “Kam Karem,” works by day as an attorney and mediator at The Read Law Firm, P.C. As a mother of three, TK uses her young adults as background research for her books. In the wee hours of the morning before the rush of the day, she downs coffee and chocolate and writes romances, young adult thrillers, and middle grade fantasies. When she’s not writing, she’s reads all the fiction she can load onto her Kindle, runs slowly for miles and miles, and messes around with acrylics and oils.
In TK’s award winning book, Ranger Nader & The Sunstruck Phantom (the first of two in the Guardian Chronicles Series), she focuses on the constant struggle between conservationists who strive to preserve the forest versus those who clear-cut it in the name of “progress” through the lens of a teenage boy. Ranger inherits the title of “Forest Keeper,” a magic ax, and the family feud with that infamous clear-cutter, Gilgamesh, of Epic fame. TK also belongs to Romance Writers of America and Georgia Romance Writers. She is presently working on the third book in her Ranger Nader/Guardian Chronicles series, a YA romantic suspense novel, and an adult romance series.
