TK Read, writes under the pen name, “Kam Karem” and is a writer of adult romance, new adult romantasy, young adult, and middle grade fantasy. She is also a frequent speaker at writing events, and will be appearing in March, 2026 at Southern Breeze, SCBWI’s spring conference in Birmingham to discuss marketing and to sign and sell her books.
TK’s a proud member of the Atlanta Writers Club and the Southern Breeze region of The Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators where she serves as Critique Group Coordinator. A strong believer in literary and creating space for all voices, she co-founded The Conyers Book Festival together with her local indie bookstore.
As a mother of three, TK uses her young adults as background research for her books. In the wee hours of the morning before the rush of the day, she downs coffee and chocolate and writes before going to work. When she’s not working or writing, she’s reads all the fiction she can load onto her Kindle, runs slowly for miles and miles, and messes around with acrylics and oils.
TK will have The Queen of Second Chances, a Young Adult/New Adult romantic fantasy published by The Wild Rose Press in the near future. Visit this page and her “TK’s Books” for more information to be published soon. Want to know more? See below!

The Queen of Second Chances is coming soon!
In her award winning MG series, The Guardian Chronicles, she focuses on the constant struggle between conservationists who strive to preserve the forest versus those who clear-cut it in the name of “progress” through the lens of a teenage boy who is training to be a spaceship captain. Ranger inherits the title of “Forest Keeper,” a magic ax, and the family feud with that infamous clear-cutter, Gilgamesh, of Epic fame. Find them for sale here: https://tinyurl.com/bothbooks
